Sometimes sitting quietly with ourselves, remembering our priceless memorable time spent with the one who touched our soul to its depth where no one could ever reach. It is the most blissful feeling anyone could ever experience. Thinking about her, I took out a big photo album from my cupboard this album is the witness of the most beautiful time of our life, at the moment I opened its first page automatically a smile crept on my face holding the album in my hand I sat down on the swing placed in my balcony with a mug of tea in the other hand. Seeing the first picture of her in which she was wearing a white knee-length kurta with blue denim, I remembered how much she used to love this outfit, even though I did too. The typical artistic look in this picture dragged me back to the time when I first met her. She was wearing the same outfit.
A boy was sitting in the Tire 1 AC compartment of a train looking out of the glass window, keenly observing the trees that were moving behind. He was drowned in his thoughts. He was looking calm, but his eyes were showing that some sort of storm was running inside him. It was looking like he was trying to find out if the trees are the ones leaving behind or if he was leaving behind somewhere. Getting irritated by his thoughts, he put on the headphones and started listening to songs.
The train was moving at full speed. There were very few people in his compartment, so he was feeling relaxed. Somewhere around 2 hours later, the train stopped at a random station and people started going in and out of the compartment, but the boy was still in his seat. He just took a cup of tea from a little tea vendor roaming on the train and started looking out of the window again, waiting for the train to start. He was thinking deeply about something when suddenly a girl entered the compartment with her 2 bags with great difficulty. She was struggling to keep her bags under the seat but due to some reason; she was not able to do that. Finally, getting pissed off, she glared at the boy.
"Argh...... How shameless a person you are... Here I'm trying so hard to settle my bag. Don't you think you should move a little and help me" she said annoyingly. Hearing her, he came out of his thoughts and got up from his seat to help her.
"I'm sorry, I was thinking something" while saying this, he adjusted her bags under the seat. "Thank you so much for your help..... and sorry," she said meekly "Sorry for...?" "I didn't want to say anything bad to you and I don't mean it.... Because of frustration, I said that..... So sorry again" she replied, adjusting back to her seat right in front of his seat. "Oh, no need to be sorry, it's fine," he said
Slowly the train started moving again on its track, and again the boy was drowned in his thoughts. The first hour went by in complete silence, but the silence was irritating the girl, so she abruptly started speaking.
"Well, where are you going...?" She asked to start the conversation. He shifted his attention from the trees to that girl. "Jaipur..." he again kept quiet and started looking out
"Oh, I'm also going to Jaipur......."
What is with this weird boy..... not speaking a word.... Now how will I pass this long journey?" she thought. pouting cutely. She waited for sometime patiently, but losing her patience, she chose to start the conversation all over again.
"Are you going to Jaipur for work or home?" she asked, breaking the silence again.
"Just like that..." he replied.
"Just like that.......? What kind of answer is this..... No one goes anywhere just like that" she asked, shock and confusion was visible on her face.
"When you feel filled up or start feeling suffocated by your surroundings..... and especially when there is no one to hear you or to understand you.... One should leave for somewhere just like that," he said, looking straight at her.
"Umm..... Very deep actually.... In life, one should spend a little time with oneself too..... What if life doesn't give that opportunity again... What and when life will show we can't predict.. So yeah, it's better to sometimes leave just like that"
"Your thoughts are very deep," he said, genuinely getting impressed by her thoughts.
"No, no, it just came with the flow..... I said what I felt........ well, if you don't mind, can I ask you one thing"
"Yah sure..." he replied, a little hesitant about what she'll ask.
"I've been watching you since I came. You are lost somewhere, is there anything bothering you...... I'll try to help you out if I can," she asked like a caring friend.
"Why do you think that I'm upset....? And even If I am, then how will you help me"
"I can see it on your face that you are not ok and about helping, it gives me happiness by helping others.... If I am capable enough to help anyone in any way, then what is better than that" she said, smiling contagiously. By now the boy was a little impressed with her thoughts that someone strange to you is so eager to help you with your problems, those problems which are nothing in the eyes of your close ones.
"I am not upset..... it's like I'm in a dilemma.... Just not able to understand where I should go," he told her honestly.
"Very simple.... Just go where your heart is taking you"
"Sometimes ignoring the requests of our heart, we have to make decisions considering our mind..... Well, let it be there was a glint of sadness in his voice.
"hey... See, we have been talking for a long time, but we didn't even introduce ourselves......hi.... I'm SHRISHTI...." she said, forwarding her hand.
"Hi.... I'm KABIR..." he replied, taking her hand and shaking lightly)
"Kabir," there was a slight smile on her face while pronouncing his name.
"Why are you smiling...... is there anything funny in my name?" he asked with a cute frown on his face.
"No, no.... I found your name unique, or should I say different... That's why" she said, smiling.
"Ahh......well, usually there are many people on trips.... But you are alone on your trip" he asked wondering.
"Yes... As I told you before..... One should sometimes go on some random trips just like that.... Where no one is with you, but you are with yourself." While saying this, there was a bright smile on her face.
"It seems like you are a very happening person, isn't it?"
"Maybe me or maybe it's the time who made me like this, see it's dark already. I think we should sleep now," she said while looking out of the window.
Saying this, she lay down on her seat, covering her face with a blanket. But sleep was far away from Kabir's eyes. The whole night he was sleepless...... fighting with his own heart and mind. Night passed like this, and soon he was seeing the sun peeking out from behind the trees slowly. Shrishti was still sleeping.... but her sleep got disturbed by the voice of the tea vendor getting irritated. She kept the blanket on one side and sat in her seat, crossing her legs cutely.
"madam chai (tea)...." the vendor asked, showing a cup of tea.
"one please"
Taking her cup from him, she turned and found Kabir already sipping his tea but she wondered as he ordered one more cup. After giving him one more cup of tea, the vendor left from there.
"good morning"
"Good morning," he replied, while taking a sip from his cup.
"don't drink this much tea, this will affect your health." she suggested.
"Nothing will happen to me...." he chuckled a little. "this is the only reason for my life you know" there was amusement in his voice.
"it seems like you are a chai lover (tea lover)" she chuckled
"deadly chai (tea) lover," he said with enthusiasm.
Both burst into laughter. The whole day passed while talking on some random yet deep topic. Both were somewhere enjoying talking to each other. Around 5:45 in the evening, their train reached Jaipur station. After taking their luggage out from the train, both said goodbye before moving on their path.
Ok then goodbye Kabir...... it was nice meeting you Or I can say nice talking to you," she said.
"true... ok then goodbye.... See you soon" saying this there was a smile dancing on his lips.
"We don't even know if we will meet again or not and here you are saying see you soon." she laughed at his line.
"this world is small, madam... the ones who are meant to meet some or the other way" he gave a meaningful look.
"yaa right. Ok bye, my cab is here...." she said, looking back at her cab.
She left waving her hand... Kabir was also waving his hand back with a heartwarming smile..... he felt a weird change in him...... just a day before he was not even uttering a single word, but now he was smiling.
"Something is different about this girl..... I don't know why but I wanna meet her again if possible...... God." he looked up at the sky, which was now turning dark in shade of blue.
